NIFT Raebareli – National Institute of Fashion Technology Overview

National Institute of Fashion Technology Raebareli was established in 2007. Earlier, the NIFT had a temporary campus which was later on shifted to the current permanent campus in Raebareli. The institute is located 3 km away from Raebareli Railway Junction and it can be easily reached via road following the Nation Highway 24B.

NIFT Raebareli offers several NIFT courses on different academic levels such as undergraduate, postgraduate and Continuing Education Programme. These courses at UG level include subjects like Fashion Design, Accessory Design, Fashion Boutique and Dress designing, Fashion Communication. At PG level, NIFT Raebareli offers a degree of Masters of Fashion Management. Important to note that, unlike most NIFTs, NIFT Raebareli doesn’t conduct any Continuing Education Programme currently.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology in Raebareli provides degrees in different branches of Fashion, Design, Communication and Management. NIFT courses include Master of Fashion Management and Bachelor of Design in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Leather Design and Fashion Communication in full-time option. BDes course fee is Rs. 1.13 lakhs against MFM fee which is Rs. 4.58 lakhs.

NIFT Raebareli Admission Process

All the applicants are admitted to a particular fashion course on the basis of the marks scored in the qualifying exam. The candidates are required to get certain marks in the qualifying exam in order to get admission in the B. Des., MFM. The NIFT Entrance Exam is conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology on the national level. Students can apply through filling up the exam form available on the NIFT site. UG candidates should have passed 10+2 from a recognised board whereas PG candidates should have a bachelor's degree from a recognised university, and this is considered as NIFT eligibility. Foreign candidates can also apply for UG or PG course on paying an application fee of USD 100. CAT (Creative Ability Test) and GAT (General Ability Test) are the qualifying exams which include questions related to Quantitative Ability, General Knowledge, Communication Ability and English Comprehension. NIFT exam is followed by a counselling round. NIFT 2019 application form was made available on the site from October. • In the selection process of B Des candidates, 50% weightage of CAT, 30% of GAT and 20% of Situation test are marked. 
• MFM candidates’ selection depends 70% on GAT score and 30% on GD (Group Discussion) & PI (Personal Interview) score.

The candidates’ selection depends on the cut-off list issued by NIFT Raebareli. The institute announces the cut-off list after the NIFT result of the qualifying exam is declared. The final selection of the candidates, however, depends on the overall score of the qualifying exam, group discussion round and the personal interview round.
